Vegan Travel Bag

The kind of bag you bring with you when you travel is important. You want to make sure you have enough space for everything you are bringing with you and enough space for some extra things that you want to bring back. If you are vegan, you will also want to make sure your bag is not made from animal products. Finding a vegan travel bag is pretty straightforward.

Look for Synthetic or Plant Based Fabrics and Materials

It’s the same with bags as it is with clothes and shoes. You should look for bags that are made of man made synthetic or plant based fabrics and materials. Some examples of materials to look for are polyester, nylon, canvas, or faux leather.

Main Bag and Day Bag

Make sure you get a main larger bag and a smaller day bag. You can use your day bag during the day, when you leave your main bag at the place you will be staying at. In your day bag, you can carry the things you’ll need throughout the day, such as, hand sanitizer, wallet, maps, cellphone, snacks, and anything else you want to bring.

Different Main Bag Styles

I prefer to bring one 40L backpack that I can carry on and off of a plane and doesn’t take up too much space in a car. You might prefer a bag with wheels if you have back pain or don’t like backpacks. A duffle bag is also another great option for a travel bag. You can decide what size bag you want based on the amount of stuff you will be bringing.

Day Bag

I like to carry a small canvas messenger bag, or a small backpack with me as my day bag when I travel. You might try a faux leather satchel, small backpack, or faux leather purse.

Organization inside Your Main Bag

In addition to my main bag and day bag, I like to use small nylon bags inside my bag to keep all my stuff organized. You can also use packing cubes or vacuum bags.

Where do you get the bags?

If you are on a budget thrift stores, garage sales, and eBay are great places to look for bags.  If you have a larger budget or don’t like buying gently used items you can try online stores like REI, Amazon, Target, or a local store that sells bags. Another great online store to try for faux leather satchels is Vegetarian Shoes.

You can avoid frustration by picking the right vegan travel bag and packing it with vegan travel supplies. These vegan bags should facilitate your travels.
