Vegan Travel Destinations

I have had the luck, means, and privilege to travel by plane, train, and car to interesting, new, and exciting places. Some of my favorite vegan travel destinations so far have been Berlin, Paris, and London.

Berlin

Brandenburger Tor at dawn is an excellent place to add to your list of vegan travel destinations

In Berlin, I relied on grocery stores most of the time I was there. I bought a german to english dictionary to help with translating the food labels. I also used the app Duolingo to improve my conversational skills.

Finding a grocery store is easy. Aldi is ubiquitous and LPG BioMarkt is another good one to visit. You can easily find soy yogurt, mock meat, peanut butter, vegetables, protein bars, vegan ice cream,  fresh bread, fruit, and many other delicious items at the grocery stores there.

I had access to the internet and was able to find a restaurant that had veggie burgers on Google. It would not be difficult to do a quick search on HappyCow to find another one. I had an easy time ordering a vegan smoothie at a coffee shop that I just happened to be passing by while I was sightseeing.

Paris

In Paris it’s easy to find produce, bread, rice cakes, mock meats, soy yogurt soy protein, vegan pudding, and cookies at the supermarkets. I used my cellphone with internet access to help with translating french ingredient labels.

It’s also easy to find restaurants that are vegan. I found a vegan burger place and pizza place by searching on HappyCow and Google

I didn’t bring comfortable shoes with me to Paris and there was a cheap sporting good store near where I was staying that had vegan shoes. There are several stores like this so if you find yourself in need of comfortable and affordable vegan shoes while in Paris you can try Go or Decathlon.

London

It was especially easy to find vegan food in London. There is plenty of vegan food in the supermarkets like produce, bread, rice cakes, mock meats, soy yogurt, vegan pudding, and cookies.

There are also lots of great vegan restaurants. I had some great vegan ice cream at Yorica!. Free Wi-fi is everywhere, so I used my cellphone to search Google and HappyCow for other restaurants. I already speak english so that helped me order at normal non-vegan restaurants.

These were just a few of my favorites so far. There many other great places in the world where you can have enjoyable vegan travel experiences.
